​From 2004 - 2009, I went through this process to manage care and find assisted living for my mom and grandmother. From my viewpoint, there was a need for transparency and consumer awareness in the eldercare field. Rather than try to beat it, I joined it. Trained as a Certified Senior Advisor® in 2013, and have visited and evaluated nearly 100 residential-care providers. Today I lead educational workshops for assisted-living residents, and enjoy collaborating with colleagues who work at Sunrise, SRG, Brookdale, Watermark, Oakmont, Aegis, Covia, and many other organizations. 
How does a family find licensed care providers who use nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, music, and cognitive stimulation to meet the holistic needs of older adults?

  1. Understand Bay Area "senior-living" business models and arrangements: private pay, subsidized, board-and-care, assisted living, memory care, independent living, continuing care/life plan, etc.

Since 1990, Linda has helped professionals and enthusiasts create and enjoy using emerging tech tools and techniques, mostly in healthcare and education.

Today she focuses on improving and promoting different ways to support mental health and brain fitness — helping people find places where they'll receive cognitive stimulation, great nutrition, and exercise, or how they can adopt new tools and treatments.

Linda also works with healthcare technology innovators on strategic marketing projects, business development opportunities, messaging, documentation, market research, and project management.

Since 2013, Linda has presented educational workshops to thousands of older adults . . . consulted with hundreds of elders and family members about residential- and home-based care . . . introduced caregivers to virtual and augmented reality and IoT tools . . .  taught senior-living residents about digital and social media apps, accessibility, and security. ​Linda strives to contribute to society's fight against ageism, and against stigmatization around dementia. 

Known in the global virtual reality community for her role in establishing its commercial industry, Linda previously:
  • helped create, edit, and write for Wired magazine,
  • wrote dozens of computer-science UI patent applications,
  • chaired nonprofit Boards of Directors, did fundraising and grant-writing
  • published two books, Garage Virtual Reality and CyberArts: Exploring Art and Technology, and
  • introduced virtual reality to designers, curators, artists, researchers, engineers, scientists, and kids worldwide
